I went out on a limb and bought a 2001 2500 Quad cab 4x4 Sport (red) auto last november. I got a great price (i think), It is loaded except for leather , camper package and stereo controls in the steering wheel. I had the tires swapped (at dealer/295 BF's) ,windows tinted, paint guard,scotchguard, and undercoating and I paid 31k out the door.



I love this truck, I don't think I will ever own another gasser !

I really don't think I'm going to due too much more to it.

MAYBE a Western Diesel chip (I think it's an Edge EZ) and thats really it.



I've got a boat with a 675hp motor and two snowmobiles , I DON'T need another project !



Plus it's like learning all over again... I've read some of these posts and it's like another language.

VP-44's ,270 injectors , Blue Chip this EZ that EGt's ,bombing , ETH/DEE ,PDR 4000, exaust brakes ?!?!?!?

More than I want to know !

Tell you what, you put that chip in and you will be hooked I ask that you tell us after the chip that that is all you will do as far as bombing the truck. I wasn't going to do anything to mine either but that went out the window when the injectors went in. Still have some stuff to do but it will wait a while.



As Russell said, there are lots of good people here to help and teach. It's been a great experience.

cwarner, you may want...

... to put some gauges in at the very least. Turbo Boost and Exhaust Gas Temps (egts) are a must and should have been included from the factory, at least as an option.



Of course you'll then notice that you need to get the EGT's down, so you'll want to get a 4" exhaust and a better air filter too. You mentioned the EZ box. Well, it'll be great, for a while, then you'll want bigger injectors, an EZ comp then... ..... Look out, you're on your way to the dark side.

don't forget....

to add a fuel pressure gauge to that list..... keeps a good check on the lift pump. and go for the COMP box, it'll save you $'s in the long run 'cuz you'll want it after you get the EZ. Oo.
