Since I just got this truck with 47K and no records, I'm doing the 36mo service and anything that I think might have been overlooked before.

The first parts house had an appropriate oil and filter, but no fuel filter.

So I went to the DC store knowing that they'd have a high-quality fuel filter, that might cost a little more.

They did, but 43 USD plus tax?!:--)

I hadn't priced any of these parts so I bought it.

Stopped at another parts house and found the filter for $14. Guess I'll be going back to DC.

Anything else not enumerated in the manual you'd look at on a new-to-you truck?

Looks like Geno's is going to be my parts house, and I will be Amsoiling it later. Guages first:cool:

Front-end parts, especially the wonderful track-bar, and drag-link.

Congrats on the new ride, and Good luck!

Later, Rob

Edit, Just read yer sig. , the rest of yer family has 4x4's even yer SISTER, what happend to you?:-laf ;) :)

Why no 4X4

That's one reason, they all got it!

#2 No front drive-line to not use 360 days per year.

#3 I've been perfectly happy with a 2WD phord for 8-years and 218,000 miles. (traction wise)

#4 I still have the old Gray Mare-1977 PHORD with big tires and little gears--and even though it don't rattle, the big block sounds good.

#5 I like this DC Cummins setup so much I might jest get a 4X4 later (for a second truck)--but NEVER an AUTO!:p

How many Cummins can you put in a driveway?

I think I'll make an audio file of all three of ours at simultaneous idle-hoods open. :D
