Fit a 2012 8ft, 3500, SRW bed on a 2003 long bed 2500?

I need a new bed for my 2003 long bed, 2500 Quad Cab and have been having a hard time finding a donor. The 4th gen beds seem to be everywhere and reasonable. Locally, there is one of a 2012 SRW 2500 that is even the right color with the spray in bed liner I want for less than it would cost to get a bed liner sprayed in.

How much did the bed:frame mount pattern change between 3rd and 4th gen?

I don't know about mounting, but the shape of the box is is sort of different and may cause you some problems. The new trucks have a very rounded backside, so the bed of the truck hooks forward to fill the gap. I was hoping to adapt a dump hoist under mine, but I'd either have to make it slide back a bit, or chop the lower leading edge corners of the box to raise it up.
