Couldn't seem to locate it in the search, so thought I'd ask what was the general concensus for eliminating the "slap" noise from the rear overload leaf springs when going over speed bumps, rail-road tracks, etc. I know there was a fix, but can't remember what it was.

Havent seen it in any threads personally but I had this problem on an F-350. Ford Dealer had hard rubber sleeves that slid over the spring pads (where the overloads contact the frame). They were installed on later model units as OEM I think. Maybe Dodge has some or maybe the Ford units could fit. Made a huge difference as the truck was always loaded to the point where the overloads were about 1/2" away from contact... so every little bump caused a lot of noise.

There was a fix for this spring slap in the archives somewhere. It involves getting a rubber plumbers coupler and a hose clamp. You simply slip the coupler over the overload bracket and clamp it with the hose clamp. I only did it to the rear bracket and it does stop the annoying slap. Its cheap too!

Is this the noise that sounds like a loose exhaust clamp when you go over bumps? I have been trying to locate this noise for about a year now. . This could be a good solve.....

My rear springs allready have the rubber pad on the spring stop. It came that way when I order the truck. :--) :-{}

I already have the rubber pads on the frame brackets

but I am getting a loud slap also. Is there anything further that I can do.

Any diagrams or pics out there? Do I need to put more rubber on the bracket or is there another point which needs it?

It seems like when it use to do it the ranchos were on 5 and I would turn them to 3 and it would go away.
