My 03 2500 has the common door ajar light, interior lights staying on issue.

It started last summer on vacation. Pulled fuse and have driven it without interior lights since.

Thought I had the issue tracked down to the problematic drivers rear door actuator. Took door apart yesterday. Found 8 out of the 10 wires in the passenger door wiring broken. Fixed all of that. Put it back together. Still no improvement. Before I replaced the actuator and fixed the cut wiring, the door ajar light was not lit. Now it is on along with same interior lights still on. Pulled battery cables for a hour. No help. Checked wiring on passenger rear harness, it all looks good. I haven't looked in the front door harnesses.

I see alot of threads dealing with this issue, but no responses on what actually fixed the issue, other than when the cut wiring was actually the problem.

Where do I look next? Can the dealer actually scan/find the root of the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry to hear that fixing the rear door wires only made things worse.
That being said, prolly time to check the front doors for broken wires!!!
I had broken wires in 3 of 4 doors!!

I will look at front door wires today

How are the front door wire boots removed the pillar? Same as rear door? My boots say push on them? Not sure if push is for reinstalling or removing? Hope they makes sense.

Removing the harness at the A pillar is the same as at the B pillar...were you able to check the front door for any broken wires??
