I know I have two posts going about the same problem, but I wanted to let y'all know I found the solution. My alternator pulley was about 3/32" too far foward. It must be one of those things the reman people call close enough. I ended up chucking it in my lathe and cutting some clearance to allow it to move back the 3/32". Now my belt is running totally centered and true in the pulleys. So make sure you keep your old pulley, or make sure the one your getting is the same if you ever replace your alternator.

Glad to hear you found the problem. By the way gun2stroke lives there in St Augustine also if you need to compare anything else.
