transmission poblems finally solved and with the fix of the transmission i happened on a #6 fuel plate dirt cheap. Oo. All i can say is wow what a difference. My 2 questions are how much boost can the stock set up handle without trouble, and at what point should i start looking at bigger air filters? :-laf

Stock HX35 is good till about 35, 40 absolute max. Dont want to grenade yer turbo.

A bigger air filter will improve a stock setup, so you definetly need one. I recommend a BHAF, made by fleetguard, PN# AH19037. You can find some mounting instructions here by searching. I`ll never go back to the stock *cough* crap airbox. Also take out the silencer ring if you havent already.

good to hear yer trannys workin better. I`m havin mine tweaked right now, then gonna chop up my plate. . muahah (ohya how cheap is that dirt cheap plate?? hmmm)

If you dont have a truck stop or cummins dealer around, there is a site on the net that sells just fleetguard. Thats where I got mine, cus the cummins dealer is not very convienent. I do know napa and carquest have partnumbers for the same filter... just search it here. .

the fleetguard store is

http://www.fleetguardfilters.com/

cummins quickserve might have it too. . mebe a diff on price i duno. . heres the link

http://quickserve.cummins.com/

do a search on mounting before you install the filter. You have to isolate the orig. airbox studs with something. I used a piece of 1x3 furring strip, worked good. I also recommend a prefilter by outerwears.com, and possibly a turbo heat shield from fostertruck.com. .

good luck
