Big and Penny, if you get down to Sevierville while in that vicinity, there are a couple of stores that I find interesting when in that area., Smoky Mountain Knife Works and across the street, Workshop tools, next door to that is a place that handles cookware and about 100 yards West of that is Buds Guns. This is all at the North end of town, also a big flea market up on the hill near I-40, open Sat. and Sun. and A Bass Pro Shop. Just a thought. bg

You're in for a real treat. Wonderful place there! I don't recall if you were towing a car, but if you are, please take BG's advice and goto Smokey Mountain Knife Works. It's over the mountain. If you make it there, you'll pass through Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville. In this trip, you'll see the "Parkway" and all it has to offer.

We stayed in Pigeon Forge last week wrapping up our two week trip. Although we didn't stop by the knife works this year we did notice they added "guns and ammo" to their title.

If you make it into Gatlinburg there is a small shop called "Beneath the Smoke" in the curve just past Ripley's Aquarium going north out of town.

The owner is quite the photographer

I always like to stop in and look at his pictures the above web site shows some of his pictures and prices.

Ripley's Aquarium is great as well.

What ya driving? I'll be sure to have the SCHP keep an eye out for you. At least you'll see some of SC and maybe the region know to SC'ers as the Upstate. My favorite region of SC.

Last ride that way we went from Hilton Head to Pigeon Forge via I26 thru Maggie Valley to Cherokee. Those SCHP boys were busy.

When we left today we got a late start, im getting use to the sleeping in routine. We ate breakfast in Miami and continued to Daytona Beach, before taking a break and contemplating our next move. We had thought about Hilton Head and Charleston SC when I fired up the computer in Daytona everything North of Savanna had some kind of flooding alert whether from Ocean or River, Probably from the Tropical Storm that had passed thru. So we stayed in Daytona and are going to get a early start on the 8 Plus hour drive to Smoky Mountain Nat. Park in the AM.

I thank you for the Smoky Mountain Knife store I have a Havalon Piranta knife that I use for skinning small fur bearing animals in the winter its more of a scalpel with changeable blades, really good for around the facial features. I've had a hell of a time finding the blades for the knife and see on the website that they have them in stock. Penny is the knife person in our family she does all of the Big Game chores in the field, she's always excited when someone says Knives. I notice that they have an axe or hatchet, depending on what neck of the woods your from that I've been trying to locate without breaking the bank, Gransfors Bruks Hunters Axe excellent for camp chores may even get one of the felling axes with the prices so reasonable.

I REALLY appreciate the Photography shop, I like to see what other like minded folks with cameras are doing. I've taken so many pictures on this trip so far that I don't have room to download them on my laptop and just change SD cards in the camera, I shoot in RAW mode with the camera it takes more memory and eats up a tremendous amount of space to change from RAW to print, so I just wait until I get home to play with the computer pictures on my desk computer.

Hope we didn't miss anyone for Thanks we plan to stay for as long as the campgrounds allow and then move to another. This is close to where my Mothers side of the family resided some in Asheville NC & Canton NC. Fore sure going to see the Eastern part of Tennessee if it weren't so blessed humid at times Penny & I have really grown to love the state, Winters cant be near as cold as Montana.

Thanks For the Info

Penny & BIG
