flag pole ball

Just wondering around in the parking lot a few minutes ago and noticed they had painted our flag pole. What is the meaning of the gold ball on top?

I think it's just an ornament and doesn't mean anything nor serve a purpose. There is absolutely no truth to the story about it containing a razor blade, a match and a bullet.

Don't know. But I got 2 in my yard. Always fly the Stars & Stripes.

Swap off on the State Flags. Fly mostly Southern State flags that incorporate the Confederate logo. Bought several a few years back as I saw the writing on the wall that many would drop the Confederate part very soon. Some have.



Don't really think the ball means anything, just a way to dress it up???

It's not a ball. It's a "truck"

Actually the "truck" is the pulley and holder for the lanyard.
