Ouch! Just tore my ^%#!)$% thumb nail off!

When and What ???

Moderator!! Sorry I got this in the wrong area. I was so excited watching the flag fly. Please move to correct area. (10 lashes) Thanks.

Thanks for your comments. The hard work, digging the holes (which ended up down in solid rock), horseing the pipe around, squaring, welding, etc was well worth it as the view today of the Stars and Stripes waving in the wind is too much to put into words. This 66 yr old man is going to sit back and enjoy the beautiful RED,WHITE,& BLUE :) :)

O. K. Happy Camper, just where in Eastern Oregon are you?

Thats where I wish I were. On retirement, I was focused on the John Day--Priaire City area, then my wife's Dr. recommended "clean-moist" air, so here we are on the coast (Port Orford). Just trying to place your area from the view?

I used to get over that way 3 or 4 times a year, now its mostly Elk hunting--out of Prairie City.

Merryman!

3 1/2 miles East of Prairie City starting up Dixie grade right a mile post 179 just past Sags Motel. We look out the front at Strawberry Mountain and out the back at Dixie Mt lookout. County road 75.

Stop in sometime. I have 2nd season Elk.

Should knock a few deer in the head. They came up on the deck last night by the patio door and finished off the flowers. They are eating everything. Enjoy them but not their destructive habits (eating).

Where do you hunt Elk? We usually hunt North Malheur. Used to do the Malheur hunt but got difficult to draw.

Buy a vaporizer and move to Prairie City. ;)

Ah, Happy Camper;

Just color me green with envy!

Sure did want to move to that area, but... .

This will only be our second year to hunt there--west beulah. Don't know the area well, but as I recall we were not much over 10 miles from Pririe City.

After hunting a number of years out of La Grand, the past 8 or 10 years, I have hardly hunted the same place twice in a row. Not a good system, but allways something.

If time works out, I try to come by somethime during the Elk hunt. Should be over there a day or two before !st season opens.

Merryman, I alway say "I go camping during Elk season". I go with a couple or 3 of my brothers (I have 6), ( and a nephew or two. I love being out and seeing nature. I have never been lost but a time or two I did not know where I was for a moment or two. ;)

We are located at the end of county road 75. I would say look for the 40' flag pole but the neighbor who helped raise the pole called tonight and said not to be suprised if I see one up at his house. He sent a fellow up to look at it today as they (Prairie Wood Products) are wanting to put one up. I LOVE IT! WISH EVERY ONE COULD PUT ONE UP.
