alright, i talked with another member last night briefly and says it may be impedning failure. see my truck sig. for mods. i now get a flare before the truck shifts into 3rd gear. then it slides into gear. although i couldn't feel much before (blowing through the converter), i could still feel some sort of shift. now it slides, but no slippage while in 3rd. This is all at WOT and with the stock fuel plate full forward.

just wondering, has anyone heard of this? are my clutch packs getting worn, or maybe a valve body problem? nothing to be worried about?

thanks,

Tom

Check your throttle valve cable adjustment. Make sure either end of cable is attached. See if the light spring that holds the tv back to idle position when your foot is of the go pedal is still there or not broke. Had to replace mine before the end broke off. Do the bands need adjusted?

If any of those thing are out of wack, they do weird things, mainly affects the hyd. pressure (aside from the band adjustments).

I had to do the exact things I mentioned. Afterwards, it is shifting like is supposed to now. It drives (shifts) like a new truck. I used to be able to slip the TCC pretty easy if I didn't watch it. The shifts felt to soft and if I shifted manually, I had a short pause before it shifted. Now it shifts likeit is supposed to. Haven't yet slipped the TCC and no pause if shifted manually.

Good luck.

alright thanks. i played with the fuel plate. sometimes it slides, sometimes it doesn't. sometiems it does the flare, sometimes it doesn't. i dunno. i guess i'll just drive it at decent power until it starts to shudder, quits, or trade it off.
