I figured it would only be a matter of time before someone would dream this one up. So I thought I would put it out on the table.

Yes I am aware of the other phyiscal changes to the engine. But I think it would be a good idea to get the extra injector event etc.

Of course if I had an ODBII tool / Cummins Quick check III tool and or their power spec software. I would backup the original code so that it could be restored at a later date for any warranty work.

seems like an easy way to get a little more HP and torque.

I also realize the code for the 2004. 5 is ~30 % more code. I wonder if a 2004 ECM code hold the additional data.

Thoughts? Comments? Questions? Concerns?

Pandora's box? I would imagine it'd be a huge undertaking, but I'm by no means an expert.

Interesting topic though... ... ... ... ... .

From the reading I have done, it looks like they had to use a different ECM to handle the extra code required to have the 3 injection events and control emmisions. I am pretty sure it will not be possible. Just buy and Edge EZ and forget about "free" power.

the new 04. 5 code expects a different turbo with an electronically controled wastegate. so the new code wouldn't work on the old engines even if there was enough memory to hold it.
