I disconnected my battery last night to change my lift pump. When I put the battery cables back on, the parking lights, clearance light, and instrument lights began flashing. After about 1 minute they stopped. I opened the door to try to start the engine and the lights began flashing again stopping after the same amount of time. I do not have a code reader yet, but the "check engine" light turned off as ususal, but when I tried to turn over the engine -- nothing.

Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas on how to "reset" this?

Sounds like you triggered the alarm system and it went into "no-start" mode. Except no horn noise. Maybe try lock-unlock with the key fob?

Sorry for the delay, but I was out of town. Did not get a FOB when I bought it. Locking and unlocking the driver's side door does not reset it. Any other ideas?

I took the steering column panel out and found the control -- It only says "20F5 D" on it.

Yes, the alarm system is still doing the same thingand I cannot figure out how to reset it  ! Someone told me that there should be a reset button, but I have not been able to find it. I tried to reach the previous owner to see if he can give me some info, but no luck so far.

Does your alarm system have an LED on or under the dash board?

Mine happened to have a plug behind the LED (mounted under the dash just left of the steering column) for a "valet" switch that would disable the alarm. It was an aftermarket setup that I didn't find until after I'd had the truck for some time. Luckily, I was able to track down the manufacturer and model (Magnadyne Silencer 6918A) and order the velet switch and key fobs before I ran into any problems.

If yours is a factory unit, I would expect a dealer to be able to help. .
