Walmart won't rotate tires

My front tires are 8 years old - time to change anyway?

I almost had something to post on this thread yesterday https://www.turbodieselregister.com/threads/248714-I-just-joined-the-tailgate-club I wasn't interrupted by anything, just was thinking about something other than what I was doing. Multi-tasking has never been one of my strong points, have been trained to do one job to completion and not to do anything other than that one task, then move on to another.

This brings me to this thread, has anyone ever used this product? I dont use the bed of the truck for anything any longer other than a place to put the Aux Fuel Tank.
It would however make it easy to toss on a few bags of feed, hay. I pull two goose-neck trailers, a stock trailer and a flat rack. What happened on the link to another thread wont happen to me. :)

They make it for long beds with SRW so there is no real big over hang on the rear tires.

Thanks BIG

I have a customer who has one of their bed and it looks good, seems to work well for him. I seem to remember it being damaged pretty good in an accident, but it isn't any more so I would bet his insurance replaced it. I have a CM bed I put on my old 03 when it became a farm truck and we love it so much so we have debated about putting one on the 13.

They are great mobile work benches.

I hate to lean over the sides of the OEM bed to get something out of it, don't want to scratch the paint. I like the idea of adding an aluminium storage box on each side also.

I have just been looking at the those same ones along with these http://www.highwayproducts.com/product/aluminum-pickup-truck-flatbeds . I like the idea of aluminum beds but don't know anything about them. Steel says rusty to me after a while at least the ones I see running around. I don't care if the aluminum oxidizes but I would care if welds were breaking as mentioned in another thread. I also would go for the underbody toolboxes. I need to paint the truck in the not too distant future and if I didn't have to paint the bed, headache rack which will need to be stripped first, repaint the toolbox and the side rails that might go a long ways toward the cost of a flatbed.

check your insurance carrier and the dmv to see if the flatbed changes the way they class the truck

An excellent point, that is the case here in Maine. They would require a photo or two if you are trying to insure a one ton that did not have a run of the mill pick up body as a personal vehicle instead of for business use. BIG difference in the premiums. I sold my tonner that had a closed service body on it years ago for that very reason.

Insurance said as long as its a Farm Plate for Personal use ONLY there is no change. Funny comment was said by insurance guy. He would rather see a flat on the truck before somebody crumples up the OEM bed with a trailer and have to pay to have that fixed. I asked if he is a Member of TDR? :-laf

I have CM flatbeds on both of my Dodge trucks, the 04 and the 2013

Would NOT own another pickup with the factory bed on it. So much more durable, useful and our GN horse trailer will not contact the bed no matter how rough the terrain is.

I like the convenience of being able to just throw something in the bed. I will say that if anything ever happened to my bed, I would install one of those alum jobs in a heartbeat. That's the best looking aftermarket bed I've seen.
