ok new member not computer geek so bear with me 99 3500 with 200,000 on it has started to have a flat spot in moderate accelaration. Wot is fine but while trying to conserve fuel the thing acts like it runs out of fuel. Flooring it will result inrapid accelartion throwing gravel at low speeds. Suprised me on that truck is stock with only a lift pump installed at 120,00 Yeah i know borrowed time and all that. Anybody have a clue? ecm? pedal sensor?

sounds like the trottle position sensor. My best advice is to just start reading on here. The was tons of discussion about 4 weeks ago dealing with all types of fixes. Good luck and happy reading!

And happy 4th of July!!! :)

Drive it to a dealer or Auto zone and get the codes read.

It sounds like dead pedal--code 0216---dieing VP-44

sorry

Other than the improper pedal response, are you getting any smoke from the exhaust at any time? If yes, when, how much, and what color?

Is the flat spot consistent? Does it always happen and at the same spot?

Best regards,

John L.

not consitent no smoke nothing really out of the ordinary except at lower rpms is where it happens. attempt to ease on throttle at below 1500rpms is when it happens thanks

Boy... without any trouble codes or anything more drastic, I'm thinking it could be your APPS (Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor). Do a search for TDR member "timbo" and "APPS" and he can fix you up with a new replacement sensor for about $150 versus the $500+ Dodge wants.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Good luck,

John L.

Mine did the same thing. Even though I had always monitored the fuel pressure put out by the lift pump using a tempoary guage,I popped the death code. I am almost certain that it is dirty fuel. Mine did it the worst when I was in fuel saver mode--the dirty fuel sort of settles in and shuts it down. Read my post a few posts down "Optomistic after popping Death Code" and see if you could have the same problem.
