I searched the posts but couldn't find anything that said definitively if I could use the stratapore filter made for the newer trucks. Geno's garage doesn't show a stratapore for my truck. Can I use part number LF3894? The stratapore is better than the standard or the microglass, right?

yes, yes and yes. if you click on the stratopore on geno's website, and read the decription INSIDE the link, it will say for all years '89-2006 etc... I believe

I use the Microgalss in my trucks and the school 12 valves # LF3552. The 24 valve Indusrial engine is different and I use the StrataPore #LF3970

I went to Cummins and gave him my engine # and he looked up the oil filter for my truck and ended up being able to get a stratapore fleetguard, I will post the # a little later for everyone

Cummins dealer in Nashville... . they overcharge for EVERYTHING and almost nevvveeeeer have anything in stock!!! TWO WEEKS for a front crank seal and 10% over Cummins NA list price - no thanks! I can buy the parts IN STOCK cheaper from Cummins CalPacific in Ventura, Calif! I buy almost everything about 450 miles away from Cummins Atlantic!

I had been using the 3552 microglass but am now using the upgraded 3894 stratopore.

In all reality our engines won't know the difference.
