Are the wix flilters from fleetfilters.com good enough for my new CTD? if so does anybody know teh correct part numbers?

Michael

If I remember correctly from their website, there is a link to a cross-reference chart to give you the correct filter number (I'd post a link, but it's probably a violation of the TDR guidelines). That said, it appears to be part #57620. I would call to make sure.

As for whether it's good enough or not, I cannot comment on that. I have used the FleetGuard Stratopore for mine since new. They're about $11 each, which is twice as much as the Wix. Since that filter is sold by Cummins, it's what I will keep using. I use Wix on my Honda, they appear to be great filters. As for me though, I'll stick with the FleetGuard's on my CTD.

Truth be told, they're probably the same thing. Do a search on "The truth about filters". There was a pretty good thread recently about who makes what...

Hope that helps,
Andy

If you look at our site on the left-hand side, there is a Diesel QuickBuy button that'll take you to the filters necessary for your truck. We sell lots of Wix to Ford, Chevy, and Dodge owners - gas and diesel. I have been using Wix filters for many, many years as have millions across the country. However, I have found that on this site, many are extremely brand-loyal to filter manufacturers.

I always saw it this way - if the FleetGuard costs twice as much as the Wix, then is the FleetGuard twice as good? Only you can answer that.

Thanks for the interest, by the way.

Genos has Fleetguard Stratapore for 10. 50. They also sell a 30,000 mile kit - 4 Stratapore filters and 2 Fleetguard fuel filters. You save about 3. 50 buying them that way vs their individual cost on the site. That should cover some or all of the UPS ground shipping. And no tax.

If you have the stock airbox, they have a different kit that includes all of the above plus one air filter.

Since there has been something of a to do around here lately, let me add a disclaimer:

I am not affiliated with genos in any way, just pointing out an option here. I do not make commissions or get any other benefit from genos. :-laf
