Is there any problem using a stratopore filter for a 24vlv on a 12 vlv. I don't think there is I believe the 24 vlv filter has just a heavier case.

I'v been using the Stratapore for quite a while now. No problems as far as I can tell. The local Peterbilt shop says that's the one that should be used. I buy them there for $7 each.

What is the difference between the Stratopore, microglass and regular filter??



Why does Genos not show the statopore to work on the 12V??



Since you are using them, the thread, and seal diameter must be the same as for the 12V filters.



I've never looked at the Stratopore - does it have a larger capacity? A different bypass valve pressure or what??

The case and threaded area of the 24V glass filter is a little thicker than the 12V. You can use either one. I think the filter area is the same. I just bought the ones for a 24V since they were cheaper than the ones for the 12V... . go figure

The main difference is in the filter media. The standard filter is celulose. The microglass I believe is fiberglas. I'm not sure what the stratapore uses for media, but the construction of the media is different. It's in layers of different pore sizes (thus the name stratapore). The Peterbilt shop where I buy filters had cutaway exhibits of the three types using much larger filters.

All I know is what they tell me. The Microglas was supposed to be the best filter before the Stratapore came out. Now the Peterbilt shop says it's the best. Exactly why, I dunno.

I emailed Fleetguard about this issue some time ago. I can find their reply at the moment but to summarize, the 3894 Stratapore filter is the best filter Fleetguard makes for both the 12v and the 24v trucks. It has the most efficient filtration media.
