Anyone using Fleetguard's new 600k mile coolant? Sounds good.

I knew I should have waited... .



I just purchased 6gal of the ES complete to change out the truck, (150k mile coolant) just havnt had time to do it yet or the buckets to put the old coolant in... .

I have been planning to do an Evans conversion, so this looks like it might be another contender. I am still partial to the Evans approach-- seems more revolutionary than evolutionary.

Hohn, the Evans sounds real good but man it's pricey.

Cummins NW wants $11. 89 per premixed gallon for the ESX

I don't mind the up front cost of the Evans. . BUT.



I can't imagine how heartbroken I would be if for some reason I lost all that coolant-- radiator hose failure, dealer mechanic drains it, etc...



OF course, the fact that Evans won't allow any corrosion rules out most of the reasons you would have to lose any coolant at all...



It's like when I change the oil with my Redline. It KILLS me to spill even a drop, because it's $8 per quart!

$11. 89 X 6 gallons = $71. 34 less tax for 300,000 miles of coverage.





regular anti freeze:

$4. 50 per average gallon X 3 gallons = $13. 50 less tax X 10 normal maintenace changes at 30,000 mile intervals =$135. 00 less tax.



Baring loseing the coolant from some mishap it looks like the ESXtreme is a good deal and enviroment friendly, where to dispose of old coolant.



Looks good will have to research a little more before changeing over.

The other benefit in using the Cummins coolant is there is no way that Cummins would void your warranty for it!



Unfortunately Dodge actually issues the warranty so what would they do if the cooling system failed and you hadn't changed it in 150,000 miles?

You hit it right on the head. DC would not cover a darn thing.



Seeing what coolant looks like after 50,000 mile I can't understand why people wouldn't do a change periodically. I try to change mine every other year. For piece of mind if anything.



However you could use the same argument for those that do extended drain intervals too.

I don't care what kind of coolant you run. I use Zerex lifetime fluid in all my vehicals. It claims it can go 150,000 miles between changes. I still change this fluid every 25,000 miles. $50 worth of fluid here is well worth the cost. It keeps things cool and corrosion free. Spend the extra money, keep the engine in good shape.
