Who has done this? What Fleetguard filter did you use? A factory filter can be use with a 3/4 X 16 to 1" X 16 threaded bushing. But I cannot find one of these. :( I want to use a Stratopore filter but need this adapter, any ideas where to find this?

The Amsoil full flow filter has the same thread and gasket dimensions as a oh no,FORD. Fram #PH8a,Wix 51515, hastings P115, Purolater PER 1A.

That it does but....

at Cummins NW the factory filter for our trucks are cheap because of supply and demand. A PH-8A equivalent (Fleetguard LF 3487) is almost $12 which is four more than the factory and doesn't have the capacity that the stocker does. I guess I will have to go to a machine shop and have a threaded reducing bushing made up. :)

Will it be as easy as just making a bushing? Would you also need a surface for the filter to seal against. It seems like the PH8 has a big dia thread already and there is a need for a plate also. Can you post a picture of the bypass, I might have an idea how to do it.

There is a big rig service center in Reno that has these huge/long oil filters. They have the PH8A threads & you can pick out about any length you want. I had a dual, remote, filter setup mounted to a bracket on the frame on a 2wd truck some years ago. I took some measurements & picked out a couple filters that hung down into the airflow, so as to pick up some cooling. :) Don't remember the name of the filters, but i'll bet they are everywhere in those type parts applications houses.

The bypass filter uses the same thread as the stock Cummins filter. Its possible to buy that threaded reducer from Amsoil.
