Fleetguard Filters

How many different kinds of oil filters does Fleetguard make for the 5. 9 Dodge Cummins and what are there FL... ... . #'S . a friend of mine says he uses the stratophore but they are not the FL3894'S... ... .

For the 12V's:



Fleetguard Microglass = LF3552

Fleetguard Stratapore = LF3894

According to Geno's catalog 12 Valve Fleetgaurd Standard is LF3349, Microglass is LF3552. 24 Valve Standard is LF3959 and Stratapore is LF3894.

A couple of things to note. The Microglass should NOT be used on a 24 valve. The case can split because of a start up pressure spike the 12 valves don't have. The Stratapore is supposed to be the best filter for use on all 5. 9s. You might want to check a local big rig shop to get the best price. I pay $7 or a few cents more than that for the LF3894 Stratapore at the local Peterbilt shop.

I think the Stratopore 3894 is common to both the 12V and 24V.



Now how about Air and Fuel Filters?
