Good evening all,

For quite a while, I have been using a Fleetguard FS 19856 7 Micron Fuel Filter in the factory housing of my '07 in conjunction with my 2 Micron GDP setup. Anyway, I've noticed that the last couple of the Fleetguard filters I have received are very difficult to fully insert in to the housing far enough to get the cap back on the housing. In addition, they are very difficult to get back out of the housing when trying to remove them. Yesterday when I was changing my filters, I had a spare OEM Mopar filter that I used and it went in to the housing very easily.

Has anyone else noticed fitment issues with the Fleetguard filters? Are any of you using another brand that fits better than the FS 19856 seems to but offers the same filtration?

As always, thanks in advance for your help.

Interestingly, I had the same issue yesterday when changing fuel filters. I usually press the filter on the screw-in top and insert the whole unit. Couldn't get the threads to engage. I then tried putting the filter in the bottom canister first, then screwing the top on and all was well. I am not sure if that is the magic formula or if I got lucky. Regards, steve whalen

For the last two years I have been running the Baldwin PF7977 5 Micron filter. No fitment issues with that one.

I’ve been running that filter since new in 04. I buy em by the case usually and from Geno’s. For the longest time, I’ve noticed that they have been stubborn coming out, and going home/ getting the cap started. Never gave it much mind. Just thought it was a tight fit in the housing. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Same issue here. I never had any issues getting the cap started back on, but this last time I did with the new filter. I wonder if things have changed slightly with the filter housing?
