Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fleetguard LF3894 -- Made in Inda

FYI, if you guys haven't noticed yet (I just did), Fleetguard's FL3894 oil filters are now made in India. That wasn't the case when I changed my oil the last time (that one was Made in the USA).



I understand the need to keep mfg. costs down, but I'd rather pay a couple of extra bucks for a filter made domestically. I guess I'll be searching for one the next time I need to change oil (or if this one fails).

I noticed that too last week when I changed my oil. I recall there being a thread on this maybe it was on a different forum I can't remember. I might be switching too. Where are the Baldwins made?

In only the last 3. 5 years? Try the last 3. 5 decades... The outsourcing to China and other countries started well before the last election.

The 16035 is the new replacement for the 3894. Not sure where its made.

I quit using Fleetgard when they closed their warehouse in Crossville, TN.

Last I heard (about 6 months ago) they were closing facilities in the USA and reopening them in Mexico.

Our injection pumps and injectors are not american made, half the tires we get now are no longer made here, none of our computer components whether on the truck or your desktop computer, sry not made here, our televisions, even the pen you may write with, this started a long time ago, heck we even buy our steel from other countries, nothing we can do about it really.

I came across a shaving cream can and it stated Made in USA on it. By god we do still make something

I totally realize this. BUT... . when I do have a choice, I choose not to buy imported products (especially from low labor cost countries). When I can support a local business, farmer or manufacture, I do so.

Bridges

I agree and try to buy Amreican when possible.

There have been comments made that saving a few bucks is more important.

ABC's Diane Sawyer ( Whom I don't like ) recently did a story on 3 bridges being built now in Alaska, California and New York by Chinese firms.

Chinese workers Chinese Steel etc, the snow ball is rolling and picking up speed, there is a line being drawn in the sand, we all need to realize this or it's game over.

Some I'm sure feel that it over as we speak.

the last fleetguards that I bought were made in mexico, the us doesnt seem to manufacture to much any more. tooo bad. .
