Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fleetguard lube filter LF3959?

Hi all,



Just been down to the nearest Cummins center and purchased a supply of lube, fuel and air filters. I went with the parts department recommendations and was given

LF3959 lube filter

FS19579 fuel filter

AF25541 air filter.



The air filter and fuel filter numbers I know are correct. However, I am not so sure about the lube filter. Does anyone know if this is the correct filter?

The 3959 is the standard filter (good). The one you want is the Stratapore, LF3894, (better).

I just had my oil changed at the dealership ($25. 00 for a filter :{ )on my new 2005 and the filter # was 5083285aa, which I din't think is a Stratapore. I found this# on TDR LF16035 except it is only good up to the 2003 models . Does anyone know if the LF16035 is good on the 2005's. The guy at the Frieghtliner dealership wasn't to convincing about it and the Dodge dealership never even heard of Stratapore. I'm going up north in a few days and I don't want to have to pay for a filter up there, so I'm hoping to have a few extra in the tool box, just in case it's a while before I get back to civilization.
