Any one know where I can get a GOOD flex plate???

Mine cracked about a year and a half ago from a broken thrust washer and had to be replaced along with the rear seal and adapter housing. with in the last month or so I get a scraping/tapping noise when I go to anything but park. The trans shop says the flex plate is probably cracked. It was replaced with a new one a year or so ago and I do not drive my sweety hard. So I am on the net trying to locate a new "heavy duty" flex plate. Any ideas ???

Thanks !

DTT (Diesel Transmission Technology) the Dodge automatic transmission builder offers one for use with their highly modified 48REs. The one I had was not actually a "flexplate. " It machined from a piece of solid billet stock. To avoid starting a transmission war I would expect that the other aftermarket Dodge automatic transmission builders also offer one.

Upgrading to a 2nd gen one for a little heavier unit is one choice and faily cost effective.

Suncoast has laminates that are very popular and relatively reasonable.

A billet one is overpriced and overkill plus can cause alignment issues.

I would think any "SFI rated" flexplate would work. This is a racing safety rated piece. Stronger than OEM.

Here's the best price I have seen on one;

May I ask where you found the adapter housing? My flexplate tore out 3 years ago, so I replaced it with a second-gen, but didn't think the housing needed replacing.

Now I need to replace the rear seal and I'd like to find the adapter, but no one locally has a 6BT-to-727/A518 adapter.

Help would be appreciated.
