So what your saying is the later model flexplates will fit and attach to the early ones?

I just had to replace mine and bought what is suppose to be a '95 or '95 + model from Cummins like the part # in the link above. It looked exactly the same. A great transmission guy in my parts who is a former diesel mech. and machinist says that the race and drag car guys can get extra heavy duty units that are made of spring steel. The spring steel being the magic elixir. He is not aware of any for our type of trucks. As somewhat of a consolation you should see all the broken Ford parts he showed me. As much of a bummer as this whole ordeal is he said Ford alone is more than half of his business and that the Ford dealers get $400 for a flexplate for an E40D.

I have been trying to post pictures of my plate and my KDP fix but for the life of me can't get it to work. Reduced image and all.

Create an album in the readers rigs section and put your pics there then post a link to it. The RR section is more forgiving to post pics to.
