Flimsy tailgate cure?

Does anyone make a stronger tailgate for the 2nd gen?

Does anyone make a reinforcing kit for the tailgate?

The tailgate on my 89 is still going strong, but the flimsy 94 tailgate is cracking at both ends around the hardware.

I WAS looking for a tailgate but I bowed out the bed sides so much from hauling logs that a tailgate will never fit now.

I guess I should limit my logs to ONLY a couple of feet above the cab!

I had them 4-5ft above it & at least 10ft out the back of the bed.

Amazing how the engine had no problem w/ the load even going over the Continental Divide but the truck bed sure did!



Anybody got the scoop on where I could get one of those HD diamond plated steel beds at?

What about an aftermarket "open" type tailgate made from square tubing?



I've seen them at camper trailer and accessories places.

If anybody has a spare tailgate, let me know... My has a big owweee sinc my car trailer let go and decided to let my tailgate stop it!!!
