I thought my old mirrors were OK. When my new truck came with flip-up mirrors I was pleased. They offer more area and have the spot mirrors included.

I am accustomed to putting the spot mirrors in the lower outside corners so that the top still gives distant vision. Also, I can see the lines in a parking stall with my current spot mirrors. When I tow I slip on a set of extenders that are preset and I'm ready to roll. Going to town? Slip off the mirrors in about 1 minute. They don't come close to a good set of towing mirrors, but they are adequate.

The new mirrors are not electric and are hard to adjust. When you flip them up you have to re-adjust them big time. The spot mirrors are upper left for normal and lower left for towing. Even flipped down, they are still about 3 inches wider than standard mirrors.

Bottom line - I'm switching back.

That my . 02 pesos. What are your views on these new mirrors??

I got a couple of EMails wanting my mirrors. Sorry for now, I swapped them out with the mirrors from my '99 and will sell them with that truck. If someone local (San Diego/ Southern California) wants them real bad I would consider trading them.

I'm glad to see some positive responses re the flip up mirrors. They do look real rugged and should be great for towing - just the inconvenience of trying to adjust them if your going back and forth a lot.

Thanks for the EMails and replies.

John
