ez out fifth wheel hitch?

I have a friend with a enclosed car trailer. It has a plywood floor. They are looking for a way to make the floor more durable.

any ideas on what to use?

Mine is diamond tread plate. You can get it done for about $5/linear foot. Wears great, cleans up easy.

Have it sprayed! I would go with ARMA COATINGS. They have a web site, and I can't remember it. Try a search engine and type ARMA COATINGS. They will find a shop in your area. This in my opinion is the best on the market. I know because I deliver bleach for a pool company, and I was looking for something that would hold up to a corrosive. This stuff outdone RYNO, and one other that I can't remember the name to. This will cost the same as any other, ARMA is just more durable. I hope this helps!

The idea behind the plywood is that it can be replaced cheaply and easily. Think of it like tires, it wears out!

If it is being excessively damaged in normal use, aluminum and bedline (as mentioned above) or cheap carpeting might help.

Cheapest

The cheapest thing is to paint it with good garage floor paint. The guy I bought my motorcycle race trailer from did this before I bought it, and it's held up well.

My dad just bought a 24 foot Classic RTX race trailer. It has an extruded aluminum floor in it. I have never seen one like that before and that floor is stout!!

Although I have never done it I like the bedliner Idea myself. I know the linoleom(sp) floors suck a fat one!! They get extra slick when something leaks on them and they tear up really really easy.

Pace(as in pace race trailers) makes some new kind of floor covering now that is supposed to be pretty cool... maybe someone else knows something about it

The best stuff I have seen is StoneHard.

We use it throughout our plant and hangars. We put 40K lb. helicopters on it daily and never a tire mark. You can get it in gloss, satin, and anti-skid finishes. This stuff is not for amateurs. Neither is the price, but well worth the investment. You will never have to do floor maintenance again:D

once upon a time....

... I did my 40ft goose in a gray garage floor paint, then indoor-outdoor carpeting, with strips of diamond plate where the tires go. I found that hot headers on a low race car dont get along too well with carpeting, and removed it under where the engines went (two cars). Perhaps a 3x3 sheet of plate under the motor, in addition to the tire strips?

If it's wolmarized plywood (presure treated), paint will help it last topside a bit longer.

If it's not treated, spray it top AND botton especially with a good treament liquid a few times to make sure it's soaked in there good.

Its hard to explain so I dug some pics up. If your looking to convert a trailer to this kind of floor I am not sure if thats possible or not. The stuff is stout and doesn't get super slick when something leaks on it. Here is what the insde of my dads trailer looks like, this is a pic from Classic's website and it shows a cutway of the flooring in the top right

Hope that helps!
