Floor console light

New to the sight and some real good information. I just purchased a 2012 ram drw crew cab 3500 4x4 ST trim with a 6 speed manual. After reading some of the stories about the manual I should of found a auto. Oh well. So my question is, under the radio bezel I have a opening a little left of center. Is there suspose to be a light there that illuminates the floor console with the lights on? If so, mine is missing. My local dodge dealer can't seem to find anything. Hope someone here can help me out.

I don't think you are missing anything on your truck, including the auto (I think they are all great). My 2011 Laramie has a rectangular opening under the left side of the radio/HVAC also, don't know what it is for. I didn't want factory Nav, run aftermarket, so I tuck the extra length of the power cord for the Garmin up in that spot. I do have a light over head that is on anytime the head lamps are on, it is a dim greenish light that is easy to miss, right behind the power rear window switch, in front of the map lights.

Edit to add: On my '03 w/o light package I put a flexible LED light from an auto parts store into the cigar lighter to illuminate the floor console cupholders, that seemed to work well.

Thanks MConyers. I guess I will have to deal with it. I just remember in my 02 (second gen) there was a green light in the storage compartment right under the radio which lite up the floor console (with the manual transmission). My truck is a ST model so I know some of the more "luxary" items are missing. I ordered a underhood lamp that was not there. I like the idea of the LED light and will look into that.
