"newby Alert"

Newbie w/ some newbie Q's.

When my 99 Ram 2500 V10s heads cracked at 57,000 miles and Dodge actually refused to talk to me... . I decided to get even... so I bought a new dually with the Cummins 600. I showed em. Actually they threw in half toward the repair if I bought a new truck.

The sticker was just over $46000 with all the good creature crap you don't really need but want ( like GPS ). However, left out were some basics like decent rubber floor mats and mud flaps.

I have ordered the Huskyliner flaps. Am considering the Huskyliner mats. Anything you can tell me about these or other mats would be appreciated.

Checking the owners manual I notice I can't tow til I get over 500 miles. Further it says you can't go over 50MPH for the first 500 mi of towing. Is this wahoo or something I should adhere to?? I worked at a GM factory in Fremont Ca when I was a kid in the 60s. Back then the owners manuals said something like don't go over 35 MPH for the first 2000 miles. Buddy these guys got in all the cars and ran them to 6000 RPM for about 45 secs right off the production line. Kinda made me wonder what the don't 35 stuff was about.

By the way my body plugs are missing. This is something I would not have known about thanks TDR... . back to the dealer tomorrow.

Happy motoring from the Burgh,

Clarkbar
