Ram meet at Ennis dragstrip March 16th

TRACTOR PULL IN RIPON CA 3-14-01 DIRECTIONS

Today Gene Hyaford and I met to discuss the planned meeting on a Florida Chapter of TDR. The first meeting will held at Orlando Dodge on March 3rd at 12 noon. Post cards have been sent to everyone on the list from TDR hqdr's. If for some reason you don't get a card please let me or Gene know. The list does not appear to cover parts of the west coast of Florida. Orlando Dodge is working on several issue to present to everyone that attends. These covering the sales dept and service dept with a talk by the diesel technician. Plus some aftermarket do's and don'ts. They have plenty of parking, so come on in and join in on the first meeting.
We think we will have a great meeting and hope we have a big turn out.

Orlando Dodge is 2. 8 miles west of I-4 on Colonial Dr. (hwy 50) and 35 miles west of 1-95, from either road. If you are coming from the west then take hwy 50 east into Orlando, the dealership is on the north side of the road.

Gene,
I will contact you thru your e-mail address. Usually pretty busy on Saturday but will try to get away from business for a while. Like give any chapter support.
Serfing the web one night I ran a cross Dieselect web page they changed their name to Southern Diesel Performance or some thing like that.
I bought my Mule at Orlando Dodge. But have had warranty/recall work done at the Winter Park, one because it is closer.
I would mail some invitations to west coast Tampa is only 1'1/2 hour away. Lot of Dodges down there don't know how many are members.

May be it will start raining by then and those of us in central FL will be able to wash our trucks.
I do what I usually do drive the truck up on the grass the day were allowed to water the grass and wash the Mule.

Just to keep everyone informed. We have about 27 replys, of folks who said they would attend. If you plan to attend please let us know. Planned talks include Oil sampling and a presentsation by an Oil vendor. Also Orlando Dodge will give a talk on aftermarket add-on's do's and don'ts. Plan to attend if possible. Hope to see you March 3, 2001 at 12 noon.

Had a good time at Orlando Dodge yesterday, Dan Watson from Amsoil was very informative as was Bob Riley from Diablo Sport,I did feel however that a few of the attendees were a little tough on the shop forman and Richard the Diesel tech considering how nice it was of Orlando Dodge to allow us to use their facility for over 4 hours. Im sure they paid these men over time to talk to us. Both men handled themselves very professionaly considering they were really outnumbered and answered all questions thrown at them and then offered to reflash anyones truck who wanted it. I know they did several,Im not sure if they even charged for the service, but it was very good of them and I will be using them for my service from now on because of this. Anyway, sorry to preach so long but felt I should give my . 02 worth, had a great time and looking forward to the next meeting and buying my Power Puck when the wife says its ok. See Ya

The first Florida get together was great.
I give my thanks to Gene and Dick for putting it together and Orlando Dodge for having us. The sessions from Amsoil and Diablo Sport were very interesting and informative. However I disagree with CAW440 the responsives(statements and questions) from members were appropriate.
It was very kind of the shop foreman to re-flash several ECM's with the latest program up dates especially after a few members jumped on them. But did they deserve it is the question? The shop foreman did not know about the web site.
Orlando Dodge has added on to service and parts department since I bought my Mule there.
If your in the Orlando area this dealer ship usually has the biggest selection of Dodge diesels around and now they have several diesel techs to work on them.
It was great seeing a good turn out.
Thanks again to the Members who put it together Orlando Dodge for support and BCFAST for suggesting it(he was volunteered for an officer position in the regional club, glad I didn't suggest it). #ad

To add to what Missouri Mule and CAW440 have said. We had a great meeting with folks traveling anywhere from 150 to 200 miles to attend. Some folks arrived 1 or 2 hours early. Had great conversations with all 35 truck owners and about 50 people attending. Met new people with different interest and concerns about their trucks. Was a great time for all.

My thanks to Orlando Dodge, Otis, the shop manager, and Richard, the diesel technician. Both had some hard questions put to them, and both did a great job responding with good answers. Great jobs guys, my hat is off to both of you. Otis was able to check several trucks, not sure how many were reflashed, but I know he did solve some problems for some. I would also like to thank Dan Watson and Bob Riley giving a talk on oil products and other Bombing products. Both are welcome to come back anytime.

We are trying secure a place for next meeting that will have more space to raise the hood and kick the tires. The next meeting is April 21st, so plan on being there. Will post time and location later.

Hope to have PdMA oil analysis folks at next meeting. They are writing an article on oil analysis and the correct method on taking the sample, for the next issue of the TDR magazine. They will be able to answer all our questions that are not answered in the TDR article.

Thanks to all who attended, looking forward to next time, when you bring a new member with you.
