Flowmaster Q&A on website

Flowmaster Mufflers has an interesting Q&A on their website with Pius Eberle. If you don't know who he is, then you won't care.

If you can ignore the use of "CUMMINGS" it's pretty interesting. .

It also appears that Flowmaster is now making a complete CTD exhaust system! Check out their sound file here:

I LOVE the sound and performance of FM muffs on my gassers-- it's nice to see them in the diesel market. .

Thanks for the info.

I will have to admit I liked the GMC sound just a smidgen more, only because when it shifted it reminded me of the good old days of carburated engines and throtty sound you would get from a good four barrel setup or quads.

Hey Guys I just wanted to let you know the Flowmaster 4inch is a great piece. I got the first turbo back issued to the public a little over a year ago. One big plus to me was the one piece tailpipe. Instead of having an over the axle piece and then another tailpipe section it is one solid pipe. The system runs 4" turbo to about two feet from the rear axle then there is the 3 chamber 50 series Flowmaster and then the one piece tailpipe slips over the rear axle from the back and into the muffler exit. The hangers were prewelded to the pipe just like the stock system. It was a breeze to install, I did it on the floor of my shop with the truck on jackstands. It sounded great and fitment was top notch however I had a little more back pressure than I thought was needed. I tossed the muffler but kept the rest of the system I just replaced the muffler with some strait through race car mufflers. Like I said it sounded awesome in person with the Flow. One downside to the system is the exit position. It exits just barely behind the mudflaps on a dually and because of the short length of the tip it WILL smoke the crud out of the side of your truck. It smoked my old truck that I just ran an EZ on the middle level. It just didn't protrude far enough from the body. When I moved it over to this truck I cut the last bend and the tip off and put a 24"x5" slack cut that exits perfectly at the corner of my bed and I don't smoke the truck near as bad. Sorry for the long post.
