Fluid Change in rearend......When

Sorry if this has been posted before but I am curious as to when you should change fluid in rearend and what to use. I have 12xxx and I am curious if I should change fluids----front & rear----now or go more miles.

To keep the warranty in effect, your suppose to do it every 15,000 miles in BOTH axles. The gaskets are re-usable. It seems like over kill but there must be a reason...
