Has anybody used the Fluidamper? If so, please help me by providing your psoitive and negative experiences and why you believe it is a good value...

Thanks!

I have been very happy with mine it helped smooth things out. You will not notice it as much on a auto. but it does make a difference.

It made a HUGE difference when I had my dual disc clutch. It reduced idle noise by 8-%-90%, plus reduced noise made by the transmission, especially in 5th gear.

Definitely worth the money.

I'm not sure it makes much of a difference with a single disc (like I have now) but it definitely smooths out the spikes from the motor. I would buy it again, even if I had an auto.

I just installed mine yesterday.

What it did do:

-dramatically quiet down the noise accellerating from 1500 - 2000 rpm

-somewhat quiet down the DD clutch noise while idling with the clutch pedal out

What it didn't do:

-did not quiet down the DD clutch rattling while idling with the clutch pedal pressed. I didn't really expect otherwise.

Install was pretty straight forward and took about 20 minutes.

-transmission in gear and chock wheel

-from underneath insert 1/2" drive breaker bar or serpentine belt tensioner tool into belt tensioner. I then wrapped a ratchet strap around the tool to the frame to keep the belt tension as loose as possible and so that I could use two hands to work with the Fluidampr (it's heavier and bulkier than the stock one)

-15mm socket to remove 4 bolts holding stock dampener on. Since transmission is in gear and wheel chocked you don't have to brace the stock dampener to prevent engine from turning. Dampener just pulls off.

-Install Fluidampr. It can only install one way due to a "key hole" so TDC marking on the Fluidampr will be where it is supposed to be.

-loosely re-install belt onto Fluidampr

-Torque bolts in steps to 121 ft-lbs

-while making sure belt is tracked straight over all pulleys, remove belt tension tool.

Thanks to Justin for the torque specs!

I am in the wrong area as I own a second gen but has anyone had it mello out the lope from having larger injectors. If it would work for this I would probably be interested. But I see a lot of responses that it is good and it works but very little on what its good for and what it works for.

It takes the vibration out of the engine. If you look at your stocker... it wobbles a bit & you can see it in your rpm gauge too because vibration makes the engine lope. It's kinda like having a tire with a missing wheel weight & You feel a pulse in the steering wheel because it isn't perfectly balanced. This is basically what is going on in your engine..... rotating assemblies need to be smooth with no vibration for extended life.
