flutter and smoke

so when i go start the beast first thing, it has what i would call a very slight flutter or "miss" and has a good plume of white smoke. after a few if i blip the skinny pedal it starts to clear up and is gone when at op temp. i dont have a cat, so i know that lets some smoke get out. . just seams to have more smoke then normal. she runs fine, etc... any thoughts?

My 06 would run rough with white smoke when started after sitting a couple days. It was an injector. Stock engine.

my last oil sample showed trace amounts of fuel. but shouldnt fuel be be black smoke? im going to send out another sample here soon.

If the combustion temp is too low, it will be blue/white.

I have heard this is typical of a sticking injector. Not neccessarily a bad injector, just sticking from ULSD. Keep a close eye on your oil level and analysis if thats what you do and try some additive. I've read where a guys truck wouldn't run right since brand new unless it was on two cycle oil. I use 2 cycle and the truck runs smoother (no hickup in the morning) and runs quieter, not that any of us really want the truck quieter but its a biproduct.

so i have sent out a sample again. should know next week. how does a injector get stuck? then unstuck when it warms up? anything i can run in the fuel?

You can try Power Service and/or 2-stroke oil if you dont already. Makes the engine/injectors much quieter. Try it for 1 tank and see if it helps, I normally put in 16oz of each per fill up.

I have this happen once every 50 times i start the truck, if not less. I have used no additives in the fuel, power service and now use 2-stroke oil, none of which has made a difference in it happening or not. It does happen slightly more in the winter, but straightens right out within a second.

Of course i would like to know exactly what causes this, but as long as it doesnt start happening more and more, and i dont loose mileage, etc, i am not going to chase my tail.

so it still smokes alittle at start up, some times it does not. i did remove my edge. so im selling it on ebay. got my oil sample results back. NO FUEL OR COOLENT ETC!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYYYAYAYAYAYAYAYA. it still has a little copper, but its dropping like a stone. so im kinda at a loss for the smoke. but i thought i would share.
