My '04 only has the holes for the lamps. I recently drove a friend's truck that had the lamps and am convinced. How difficult is the install/retrofit? I am guessing I will need a new switch, a wire harness, the brackets, and the $$$$$$$ bulbs. Anyone done this ? Any help/info will be greatly appreciated.

I live in Alvarado,Texas(south of Ft. Worth). Anyone within 50 miles who has done this before and is interested in helping(in person--that means hands on), will be rewarded with diner @ Texas de Brazil. First come first serve!! :D

Put fogs on my 04. 5 2500 Dodge CTD. Took about an hour, but I had to do most of it twice, too much of a hurry and night was coming. Ordered part number 82209437 from http://www.mydodgeparts.com/. It is a kit that fits Rams that are pre wired for fogs. Kit contained 2 lamps, 2 trim rings, wire loom and headlight/fog light switch combo.

If your truck is prewired for fogs there will be a connector somewhere outside the frame rail just behind the bumper. Should be able to see it from above with the hood up. Real easy project to do.

I got the kit from dodge for my non pre wired truck. Was extremely easy (hardest part is running the wire through the firewall) only this kit didn't replace the headlight switch. Uses a separate switch (included).

DJaquez speaks the truth. Your SLT is already wired (mostly) for fog lights.

I bought a set of take-off fog lights which included the short harness that just goes between the two lights. The lights bolt up to existing holes. The harness has 3 connectors -- one for each fog light and one for the existing harness in the driver's wheel well. These can be found on eBay, usually.

The only other thing that was needed was a new headlight switch, for a truck with fog lights.

The switch was a breeze to install. It takes no tools to remove or install the trim panel that holds the switch in. Only takes a #2 phillips to swap switches in the panel.

If you have the stock bumper, you'll also need the plastic trim rings that go around the fog lights.

sorry to hyjack this thread but does anybody happen to know the part numbers for the plastic trim rings on the fog lights. Preferable the one for the drivers side.

Here are the part numbers:

ordered a Fog Lamp package # 82208102. I was told it came with a replacement headlight switch - it does not (it has a rocker switch) and requires a wire tap.

I have ordered the headlight switch for foglamps #560455378AC and the jumper for the fog lamps #56045501AC. This allowed me to use the fog lamps without splicing wires.

Consider how you will want to use them and if it gets foggy out.

Doing an OEM install will make them operable only on low beam which is fine for fog while annoying to on-coming traffic if used in non fog conditions.

You could mount the lamps, upgrade the bulbs to 9005's and just put a relay between them and the high beam wire. Nothing to buy or change inside the cab and they are auto on with high beams.

I dont have the part # in front of me,but this sounds the same kit I have. I installed per instructions except instead of tapping the low beam wire at head light. Just splice that wire post inline fuse to the wire you attach to battery (part of kit wire harness),and now they can be turned on any time regardless of headlights or running lights. The only draw back is no indicating dinger if you leave them on,you have to remember to turn off. ,and you havent tampered with your trucks factory wiring harness.

Same here... for me, the longest part was soldering the trigger wire to the lowbeam hot...

Still only took a little more than an hour...

Funny thing is my ST is apparently wired for foglights if what the others are saying is true about the pre-existing wire...

Is this connector hanging loose or is it the one on the driver's side that is clipped to a seemingly useless bracket ?

That would almost have to be the one. I can't think of another unused connector in that area.

Trust me, your SLT is pre-wired. Get the fog lights, headlight switch, and the harness. If you want, you can put the switch in (takes 10 minutes) and hook up the fog lights before you install them.

It worked like a champ for me.
