Yes, it's a simple mod to keep the fog lights on with the high beams. You just need to pull the fog lamp relay, and jumper the two large pins together. You can get all the details here...
i chose different way. rewired the fogs with a relay, and a toggle switch in the cab. now independent of either highs or lows. can have them on any time the "ignition" switch is on.
Redneck, keep in mind, some switches aren't designed to carry the full draw of the assy. they run. Therefore the relay handles the full draw and a messenger wire trips the relay with significantley less current. Since most fog light kits come with a relay one should still be used. If you like those lighted switches, a relay should be used or make sure the switch is more "commercial/marine" rated to handle the constant current. My little cheapie switch for my fogs would melt without a relay
yep, got a relay. also heavier wire to the lights. i just used switched 12v+ to the toggle switch. supply for the relay is from the battery, through a fuse with 12 ga wire.
Went into the bottom of the PCM and cut the wire from fog relay 1 to relay 2. It's the contact power from 1 that goes to the coil on 2.
Then I ran a jumper from the load side of the main PCM power fuse to the coil of fog relay 2.
Relay 1 is now in an unused spot in the PCM and I'll save it for a spare.
Now I can turn on the fog lights irrespective of the headlight switch for daytime running lights where required and other uses, like finding my way in the dark and not show any other lights.
I wonder if the wiring on our 2001 dakota is the same as the ram? I think if I get a bright box for the Ram I will have to get one for my wifes truck or she is going to get mad that all my attention (and money) just goes to the big truck
