Does anyone know how to get the factory equiped fog lights to also work when the High beams are on? I have a 2001. 5 QC auto. Any help appreciated.

Remove the cover on the fuse/relay box under hood(drivers side) Find the relay labeled "fog lamp relay". It will be the relay closest to you if you are standing by wheel-over fender. There is a lay out on the bottom side of cover.
Remove relay, put in glove box. Install a jumper wire between terminals 3 & 5. They will be the 2 larger pins, the others are small terminals. The pin #'s are on the bottom side of relay.
Jumper, approx 2" long. Crimp bladed(blue) solderless connectors on both ends. I put a some heat shrink tubing on mine before crimping connectors.
Enjoy fog's with high beams. Scott

Will there be any problems with the curcit after doing that? Any heat or blowen fuses?

bigmike, I haven't had any problems-mine has been done that way for 2-3 months.

There won't be any increased load on the high beam circuit, as the fog lights are wired from a different fused source. I have mine wired this way as well. More light can only be better!

Remove relay, put in glove box..... Enjoy fog's with high beams.

<font color = blue>... . Does this still work with a Brite-box in circuit? #ad
(Hi/Lo beams on together). What happens on Lo-Beam both with/without Brite-box in circuit?

I have a 1998 and my truck has 2 fog lamp relays. I put a jumper on the one next to the fender and it did not work.

Look at this page at the great Dave Fritz site. It looks to me as though the jumper needs to replace the other fog lamp relay.

The instructions for the 1998 Ram seem to give you two choices: cut a pin off a relay or install a jumper. I vote for the jumper.

JMc,

I've had my fog lights on with the high beams and BriteBox for years now with no problems. With just the low beams on, there is no difference from factory operation. Oo. Oo.
