The other day while driving in heavy a heavy downpour, I noticed that me drivers side fog light was going out. I would come back on then shut off again. This happened a few times before it quit and they both stayed off. The next day I checked to see if the bulb needed replaced and noticed water inside the wire connection between the bulb and socket, the bulb was fine. Someone told me that if the computer senses a short 3 times it will stop sending power to that circut. Is this true and how do I remedy this situation? Any help would be appreciated as I regularly drive dark roads at night.

You will probably have to find someone with a code reader to clear the fault.

You might try disconnecting the batteries for about 20 minutes to see if that will clear it.

Water getting into the plug or harness someplace? Bad ground?

Pull the connectors, clean them up and stuff some dielectric grease in and see if that helps.

Heck, make sure the connectors are snug together. Maybe you are hitting a bump and they are a little loose?

Start with the easy stuff first.
