My 2006 3500 did not come with fog lights, how hard is it put them on now? Were all trucks prewired for them? I know the head light switch has to changed, but do you have to get wiring loom?

Mopar sells kit that includes a new headlight switch, both lights and the front harness. If you want to make the front harness you can buy just the switch and do all the front stuff yourself.

I checked this morning, two kits still available. One for trucks with existing frame harness and the other for trucks without factory frame harness..

If I read my parts manual correctly you want 82208102AB. Says switch is included but I haven't been able to find a picture that says if it is a new headlight switch or a separate fog light only switch.

It's a new headlight switch with fog function included.
The OEM kits I've seen only come with the dash mounted rocker switch. Since my truck already had the wiring I just bought a new headlight switch, fog lights/bezels, and the bumper harness that runs from the left light to the right one. Everything was less than $100 total on eBay (OEM harness and bezels, aftermarket lights and h/l switch).

When I broke a fog light on my 04 I bought a Mopar kit on eBay for about $20 more than I could buy a single factory light. It came with the harness, 2lights and a headlight switch, not a separate rocker.

My truck had the factory harness behind the bumper. I swapped the dash switch with a new unit from Rockauto. I have an ARB bumper. I installed some LED lights that work great for seeing deer. They are probably not DOT legal fog lights. I don't use them when near other vehicles. They are specifically for spotlighting animals at dusk coming down to the river for a drink. I've had some close calls in the past. Now with the ARB and LED cube lights I have not had a problem since. I cut out the factory connector and used my own. Cube lights were about $19 on Amazon. Probably $10 worth of wiring/connectors. The LED's have about 1amp draw each.
