I REPLACED THE FACTORY GRILLS WITH "STULL" GRILLS. I BOUGHT AFTER MARKET FOG LIGHTS. THEY ARE WIRED INTO THE ORG FAC WIRING AND MOUNTED ON THE LOWER BUMPER. THEY QUIT WORKING. THERE IS POWER TO THE LIGHTS. IS THIS NORMAL? WHEN YOU TURN THEM ON THE LIGHT SWITCH GROUNDS TO TURN THEM ON? I NOTICED THE AREA AROUND THE LIGHT SWITCH WAS GETTING VERY WARM, ALMOST HOT TO TOUCH. IS THIS NORMAL? I SUSPECT FAULTY SWITCH? ANY ANSWERES. 99 3/4 4x4.

You are correct in that the circuit is grounded to complete the path. Sounds like you overloaded the switch with the aftermarket fog lights. Check the switch and harness connector for signs of overload (melted plastic and burned wires):{ :{

check out rely&switchwith stock lights. once you get back to where you started consider useingthe stock switch to power a heavy duty rely,that will be rated at least the amps your aftermarket fogs want to draw. be sure to use the correct gauge wire also from your battery to the rely. good luck,i suspect the stock ones dont require all the amps your new ones want &might not be suitable for this. Foggy lights

If you have the factory wiring to the fog lights, the headlight switch only activates the relay. Check the fog light relay in the PDC. bg

stock fog lights

When you get your aftermarket lights working correctly, are you interested in selling the stock lights to a TDR member who's truck needs fog lights?
