I know theres a lot of people that have complaints with the volume of air blowing from the AC vents. Well i noticed something yesterday and wondering if anyone else has noticed it and if they have if there is a fix for it.

I noticed that when the ac is on vent only, that there is a decent ammount of air coming from the floor vents, when i put it on the floor it blows out like a wind tunnel. could it be possible that the flapper is not completely moving where it should be?

I am waiting for the 2008 to come out and it will be my 4 th Cummins/Dodge. The a/c units have always worked perfectly. I ALWAYS have my a/c set on recirculate. That way it is cooler and has more volume. I believe the 2008 will be the same as my others. The Laramie pkg. is very nice.

My QuadCab, Laramie, is an underperformer in the Air Conditioning department. I have had it to two dealers and they say it is within specs.
Maybe the system is under enginered. I must say now that I am in New Mexico, at 6K feet, the A/C is finaly doing its job.

I'd be more then willing to pay to have mine improved. . thought for a while it was just a mega cab thing but evidently it's not.

:mad: Dido... ... ... but do think Dodge should pay for a fix.
With all the moans N groans I have been reading about the 7. 5 yr mdl. . My complaint is the under performering Air Conditioner. Its not good enough for <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />Texas, is good enough for high altitude New Mexico. What do you think my experience will be when we get to Yuma, Arizona? When the word gets out about these poor performer AC’s this trucks sales will slide in Arizona.
The interior temperature of your vehicle is not up for debate. It is either good or bad. :{

It is either good, not so good, or bad.

Does anybody have an A/C in a mega that performs well and lives in a hot and humid climate? Looking to buy a new truck soon, keep on waiting to see if Dodge will fix the A/C soon. I have test driven two different megas, and the cooling was less than adequate. I like to smuggle penguins when I drive.

Had the opportunity to set in a 2008 Mega cab 3500 Saturday. Minimal changes in appearance... BUT now I know what you guys are complaining about. The air flow in the front is crappy. Even when you shut off as much as possible the air flow to the back seat. I am wanting a quad cab so I hope it will, as always, have plenty of air flow. Seems they need a booster blower of some sort to keep the air flow adequate for us folks in the hot weather country. LOVE the dually fenders on the Mega-cab. Wish they would use those on the quad cab.

I have the quadcab and the poor AC is a major annoyance. Had I known the air conditioner was of poor design I would not have ordered this truck.

Well got some decent news from my buddy at chapman:

"there is a screan in the hvac unit that diverts the air to the rear vents-so we get inside the hvac unit and cut it out and it increases the volume drastically"

Going in monday to have it done, will let you know.

Drove a quad cab 3500 dually with 6. 7 and 6 speed auto home for the night. Drives sweet. Sound is great. Exhausr brake really neat and quiet also. Air Flow from vents was great. Pretty much the same as my other 3 Dodge trucks, 99, 04. 5, and 05. Ambient temp was 93 and the unit after initial cool down was effecient with the blower on low and the a/c set to recirculate. . Very different from the Mega cab air flow.

Intersting, so the dealer will do this for you?

Let us know how it works out. It can get miserable here in Austin during the summer.
