Thought this was pretty good, and yes I've tried to get away with it.....

We rescued an 8 week old Norfolk terrier about 2 years back. The owner/breeder croaked. She Loves hunting small vermin. Very active dog. Got to be the perfect dog. I fainted when I saw what they cost.

We've been dog-less for over a year now. I'm getting the itch for another one. This time however will be a mutt. After having pedigree Labs for so many years, I'm truly tired of the vet bills

The timing of this thread is heart felt. The picture above is of our beloved Molly who died on this day eight years ago. And even though it was in 2010 we still miss her to this day. She enjoyed a variety of treats and even had a small dish that we always kept five biscuits in for her to snack on when she wanted. Only eating one at a time maybe twice a day, but most interestingly she would check on them throughout the day and when she noticed only four were there, she would ask us to put another in the dish. Not to eat at the moment though. She wanted five in the dish! Smart "little rascal". Molly got to share a piece of bacon every morning too and always seemed happy and very pleased with about a quarter to a third portion, but I wish I had a picture of the expression on her face when I offered her an entire piece of carefully prepared Premium Slab Cut Bacon. Priceless!
I could go on and on......
Thank you for posting this thread Mike.

6 months ago we rescued a boxer which had been seen wandering the streets of Escondido, north of here. She was transported to the shelter here. She'd had a litter and was about eight pounds underweight. We got her and everything's been uphill including her weight. She's timid around dogs and some people but loves us to death. Wonderful addition to the family!

I had to put my beloved GSD down 12/31/14.
I cried, couldn't even talk about it for a while. It was quite a surprise. She was under the weather, so we brought her to the vet. Bloodwork showed major internal organ problems. She knew. :(
Couple years passed, and we got another GSD. The wife was dead against it (super shredder) but I'm pretty sure she's as close to the dog as I am.
