I have had a Juice/Att on my dads 05 for about a year now and it has worked perfect. The other day I loaded up 60 HP with timing with my smarty, I turned the J/A to stock and we drove for about 20 miles. The 60 HP felt a bit stronger than the J/A 5/5. Ever since I loaded the stock program back in his J/A will go to 0/0 after you shut it off and turn the truck back on? It was always left on 5/5 and never did this before. I called edge and they said that they have never heard of one doing that? And also it feels like I lost the TM delete after I loaded it back into my truck? Anyone else having this problem?

Hot Juice/Attitude and Smarty

Mattymac - I too have loaded the Smarty 60 hp, (no timing), with my HJ/A set to stock. I even tried the HJ/A on all the levels with the Smarty loaded and wasn't overly impressed. It seemed my HJ/A on level 5 and my Edge EZ switch on 2, (no Smarty), it was much stronger than the Smarty stacked with the same. After I unloaded the Smarty I'm not having the reset problem you indicated but the last interstate trip I took I noticed the HJ/A monitor periodically flashing back to a "zero" in the upper right corner of the monitor. It was happening on all levels. It was doing this intermittantly but did not seem the affect the power at any of the levels. I figured my HJ/A was just acting up. Could it be the Smarty is affecting the HJ/A someway?

On another thread "SMarty and Hot Juice"in this forum Diesel Power states:
Diesel Power said:
the edge is programed for the stock ecm, it modifies those parameters, when those parameters are changed ( smarty ) it can no longer clearly understand whats going on. thats where your power loss is coming from.

With that in mind I may be considering the TST box if it will stack correctly with the Smarty. Just my 2 cents.

one thing to consider, not sure if it is possible or not, but as I mentioned in the other thread the Juice taps into the datalink for the ECM. I am not sure if the downloaders can interfere with it or not. The tst is a standalone system

i am a firm beliver that you should put your truck electronically back to stock before you put a downloader on it. that means unplug your boxes and then put it back to stock before you download.

I too have the HJ/A and Smarty. They work great seperately, but don't play well togather. If I turn the HJ/A on any setting with the Smarty programed in, I get a constant feeling of surging and then backing down while under steady throttle. Whether under accl. or decl. everything is smooth. I'm hoping it's not the Smartys programming thats messing up the HJ/A as others have mentioned. If it is, is there a fix yet?

When I was talking to edge they said that they have a problem where the att monitor will intermitintly flash to 0 while cruising down the road and doesnt affect power and they said they have a fix for it.

Edge Attitude monitor flashing Zero info

Mittymac - Thanks - that's good info. I was pretty sure the Hot Juice was fueling OK when the Attitude was flashing back and forth to Zero. I believe I'll give Edge a call next week and see what they propose. Thanks again. Bill :)

a while ago my edge did that same thing, i would have it on 4 or 5 and it would lose power and go to 1, it happened for a while, i just recieved a new one. :-laf

Thanks for more good info Diesel Power

More good info DP. Mine's just flashing right now and hasn't reset back to a lower level that I'm aware of. I did pull the battery cables yesterday and haven't noticed it doing it around town in the limited time I had to test. I'll try to test more on the open highway soon - just can't get up to speed with this Atlanta area traffic much. Thanks. Bill
