On the fence, considering trading up from my old truck

I have a '24 RAM (see sig line), and considering the extremely high cost of repairs, am considering purchasing the MOPAR/RAM MAXCARE extended warranty. For those that have purchased one, what level of coverage did you get? What were your thoughts on deductible levels vs overall cost of warranty? Where did you buy it from (link?) And the biggest question, have you needed to use the warranty?
I've had considerable electrical issues which seem to be finally fixed, which is nice because I REALLY like this truck. At this point in time, it more than qualifies for a Lemon Law buyback, but if the issues have been corrected, I don't see the point of going that route, since I like the truck otherwise. Should I be more critical?
Thanks for any input on this!

Maxcare for sure, I would get the $200 deductible now, but the one I had before was $100 deductible. Got it through Zeigler Auto Group back in 2014. No idea if they are still good or not, but they sure took care of me. Broken valve spring led to catastrophic failure and they replaced engine under warranty. Multiple other smaller issues like GPS, radio, bearing seals, U-joints etc. All covered under warranty. Now I am my own warranty station....but I love this truck and don't want to replace it. At least not until they have self driving, then we can talk.

Note the MOPAR warranty excludes the DPF and a few other things. I would go for a $0 deductible. Regardless I got a 7 year 100K to last while the truck was financed. So far it’s covered rentals the factory warranty doesn’t. It’s covered the steering damper and a power steering line.
I have had other garbage warranty programs and had to tell the finance guy where to shove the one he was pushing for the MOPAR warranty.

I have had them cover engines and be a waste of money. So far the peace of mind… I have lost money on it for this RAM with it being reliable so far. As above one valve spring is all it takes to be worth it.

The 0 deductible moves the cost into the stratosphere for me. The $100 deductible looks about the best. I havent found one yet that covers the DPF and CAT. The maxcare that I was quoted covers rentals if the truck is in the shop. All 8 times my vehicle has been in the shop so far, Stellantis has covered the rentals for pretty much whatever vehicle I wanted. Yeah, one little valve spring, lifter, or heater grid nut can ruin your day, so Thats why I'm looking at the extended warranty.
For anyone else interested, Chryslerwarrantydirect.com has come competative pricing if you don't live in CA.

I had the choice of MAXCAR/MOPAR warranty or aftermarket with $100 deductible. I went with aftermarket (Fidelity Warranty Services). Same company who underwrites other vehicle extended warranties for Honda and Toyota, and a few others. I felt it was a better deal for my application and I know of a few folks that utilize them and they've rolled the red carpet out for them. There was once instance where a dealer didn't have a loaner vehicle and he called them, and they made arrangements for him at his local Hertz for vehicle drop off at his house. I called them once or twice to inquire about info and never any issues answering my questions.

FWIW, Fidelity only covers a vehicle for 7 years or 100k. Whereas if you plan on keeping your truck for a long time, I believe you can go as far out as 15 years/125k (multiple renewals!) of warranty. I did that with my 2007 Ford F150. I had warranty on it till 2022. I made out on it cause they had to do a head gasket and a few other things.

Neither one will cover failure due to rust/corrosion.

You can also look at MBI (mechanical break down insurance), which covers big ticket items like engine and transmissions. Not every insurance company offers this.

I went with the max care 7 yr 125k miles., $200 ded At least at the time they would do a 8yr 125k miles but I know that I will get 125k before 8 years and quite possibly before 7 but we will see. Now I can’t remember who went through Ziegler, moparmdirect or Chrysler direct. They were all three were significantly cheaper than other places and way way cheaper than the dealer

I went with aftermarket (Fidelity Warranty Services)

So Sorry! Those clowns, that I told the finance guy to shove it on, wasted a good amount of our time and the shop's time on a past vehicle. They don't cover the expansion tank and made the GM dealer prove the top of the radiator that split open wasn't the expansion tank. I detail it more here and posted a copy of a MOPAR Warranty.

Interesting. Only reason I went with it was because of folks around me who have it and like it.

Granted I haven't needed it - yet, I hope not to have problems. I didn't pay much for it (I think it was $2k for 4 years... wasn't much in comparison to other junk I've bought!). So far the MOPAR powertrain warranty has come thru on my last ordeal with the PCM replacement.

I'll be sure to let you all know if I have problems/experience.

I got the Maxcare on my '18 and '23. 8 years, 85k miles. I actually made money so to speak on my '18. Had to get the 8.4 radio replaced and an oil leak on the timing cover fixed. If you trade/sell the vehicle before the end of the warranty period, they refund the cost on a prorated basis. If I recall, it cost about $2200 on the '18, and when I traded it, I got about $1200 refunded. Don't know the exact cost of the repairs, but I'm sure they exceeded the $1000 I essentially paid for the warranty.

8/125 with $200 deductible... Reality is I dont want the dealer working on my truck so 0 ded would tempt me.... I have not used yet but if I do (like my last truck) it'll pay for itself.

Appreciate all of the replies here. THANKS!!
I decided on the 8yr/125K MAXCARE, as it suited my needs the best. Called a few different vendors and requested a copy of their offered contracts. I was surprised that the MOPAR MAXCARE contracts are not all the same. The one I purchased had some additional coverage that offset the slightly higher price, pays to read the fine print...
So, Thanks again to everyone that replied, your info was very helpful!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

You might not need an extended warrant to cover the DPF or the CAT. On my 2016 Jeep WK2 the dealer just replaced the DPF under warranty. I do have a MOPAR extended warranty for it with a deductible, but I was not charged any deductible. Service manager said it is something relatively new that MOPAR started doing this through their emissions warranty program. You might want to investigate this further to see if it is really necessary.

All Mopar contracts should have the same wording. If they do not, they may be trying to sell a non Mopar warranty as a genuine warranty. Buyer beware.
