I just got mine from Summit a couple of days ago and was wondering if there is anything I need to know or need for the swap. Tips, pointers and any other advice would be appreciated. :)

It's a pretty simple swap, just remember to un- bolt the sway bar links and un-bolt the forward bolt on the upper suspension link on both sides to prevent binding when you drop the axle to remove/replace springs. Whew, long sentence! Also use two floor jacks, it makes life easier.

Good luck, Nathan

Nope~

The two floor jacks do help though and you will see as you do it, hard to explain. The old ones will almost fall out and the new ones will slid in. Should be pretty easy. Good luck and enjoy, love mine:D

Might seem like common sense, but take both coils out of the box and set them on a level surface. If I had done that, I wouldn't have ended up taking one of the coils out after everything was back together. I couldn't figure out why my truck sat crooked... One coil was 1. 25 shorter than the other.

JLinder, what do you mean. Are you saying that my truck will sit crooked when I get the springs in. The Skyjacker springs seem to be the same height. Do I need to put a specific spring on a specific side? Help;)

Don't Panic!

The reason my truck sat crooked was Skyjacker sent me a defective set of coils. The are both supposed to be within 1/8" of each other, and mine were off over 1". If I would have thought to look at both coils at the same time before I installed them I would have saved myself the trouble of installing them twice.

The coils for the 3/4t & 1t trucks are the same, so it doesn't matter what side you put the coil in.

Whew, don't scare me like that. :) I was getting a little worried. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do them this weekend. Maybe next weekend. Or maybe I will wait till I get the shocks. :)

Well, I got them in. What a difference as I can turn my wheel all the way and just barely rub on the control arms. Plenty of clearance in the fender wells. I am thrilled. :D Easy swap too. I would say that was a 140 bucks well spent. :)
