Ford bashing anyone?

Help plan anniversary vacation

Coming home to NH from NJ on Sunday, I was listening to the "Car Guy" on WRO radio and he said that NJ is siliently banning the good ol'e reliable 5 gal. Gas and Diesel cans with vents on them (you know the ones ... they sell for about $5). The new NJ EPA approved gas/diesel cans will have vapor recovery systems on them and they will start at around $30 a can and up!!!!

The guy on the radio stated that by EPA measurements, the Green-House gases emitted by the average tree is greater than that of the average car ... so when is the EPA going to mandate Catalitic-Converters for trees?

You people better take a closer look at who you vote for. What insanity.

This is definately the first i've heard of this. Who in the world decided to pass this bill? Any idea on when this "change" is supposed to happen? I guess it's always good to have extra cans around anyways but will they be usuable if this passes?

Do you really think the folks surviving off our tax dollars we "vote" for give a damn about gas cans? When is the last time you saw a legislator cut their own lawn or run anything gas beyond the SUV's and Cadillac limo's they cart their fat worthless cellulite around in? In order to make any vote count, you'd need to first line all the lobbyists up in a firing line along with the special interest groups. No candidate is free from bribery and pay offs these days, none!!! Democrat, Republican, doesn't matter, they will just mingle and become one useless machine in the end afterall.

The newer vent recovery cans are a joke, yes, buy I guess if a stupid redesign of a gas can will take up their lobbying schedule time instead of cutting into my ability to still be able get the fuel itself, so be it. Hopefully the new cans will be spill proof so when they try to set hummvee and SUV dealer lots on fire, it will prevent that too.

me being invlved with law enforcement for the state of nj i see it everyday. the entire state is political and it seems the less you know the higher position you get. anyway what nj is also trying to do is tax our own well water and put a tax on top of the original tax for public water. this state will probaly get as bad as california eventually. we just better not elect any bodybuilders as governer any time soon.

No offense to you good NJ citizens but I think that's why theres a sign just west of the Delaware River that says...

"Welcome to Pennsylvania. America Starts Here!" :-laf

Although with the mass immigration into Pa from NY and NJ it won't be long until they have to move the sign to Ohio.

Bodybuilder and governor elect Arnold inherited a huge deficit from the prior administration and unfortunately has had to make some painful cuts. He also has cut auto registrations by some 40% and is fighting with the far lefts' intentions to rescind Prop 13 which enables our homeowners, particularly the elderly to remain in their homes. I understand N. J. s property taxes are out of sight. Maybe a bodybuilder could be helpful to you folks. Arnold just wants accountability and a fair shake for the taxpayer. We've had the "green" cans for years now and they do suck. They were approved by the prior administration and hopefully would have been terminated by this governor as useless and ineffective if proposed to him. Anyway I guess this is not the right forum but sometimes legal immigrant bodybuilders do some good for our country. Good luck with the "green" cans

I could not have said it better, I have cut and pasted your post, it will soon be bannered across my screensaver at work. :-laf

As a lifelong resident of The Peoples Republic of New Jersey nothing surprises me anymore! It's always pay more to get less. As soon as I can get the wife's OK we're out of this shyt-hole state. The toughest thing for me is that the county I reside in USED TO be veeeeeeery rural. Alot of the kids I grew up with were family farmers. Now they almost all gave up, and we are surrounded by shopping malls, and tract developments full of New Yawkas.

It's too late. NJ is already a shythole.

I've lived here my entire life also.

It it wasnt for my wife, I'd have been outta here 15 years ago.

I'm begining to wonder if she's worth it. :-laf

There is a huge difference between the New York City urban sprawlers and the actual state of new York. If you had a chance to view Upstate New York when Hillary went on her job hunting tour, you would have seen the "love" upstaters showed her. Stay out B#tch was the typical poster on the curb.

NYC is like a frostbit dead toe, only way to stop the infection is to seperate it from the body. Too bad we couldn't just take down the bridges, tunnels, and ferry's to cut the commuting routes of the suburbanites that have caused the problems your talking about.

I too have seen the effects of urban sprawl destroy my hometown, no one wanted to spend a dime with the storeowners, they wanted to just live there, overtask the schools, drive the property taxes out of reasch of the original community, and demand the town adapt to their adgendas. Gas cans are the least of the worries I'd be screaming about. :(

I am well aware of the difference between New York and New Yawk, hence the spelling. I am always wary of telling someone I'm from New Jersey and watch them cast the "jaundiced eye", so I explain that I am from Jersey not Joisey. I've been to and through upstate NY and, except for the interlopers it's a great place.

My apologies to the original poster for dragging this so far off topic.

I want to second Catoil's comment... . these green can fillers suck. They originated here in California, complements of CARB. I end up spilling about a thrid of the fuel when trying to transfer. Just another stupid government action... .

Well as long as they still fill my 550 tank, I can live w/o the 5 gallon cans.

Hell, between the factory tank, and the aux tank, I hold almost 100 gals on the truck itself.

Hmmmmm Banned Gas Cans, Banned Guns, Banned Governor, Must be

Jersey don't like G's ;) ;) :D

Too bad they won't ban GOVERNMENT and GREED too!!!

I can't see any positive way to fix the fuel can issues, no matter what you do now, its going to be futile. The big question is, now that the cans recycle fumes etc. Does this mean the greenies can tramport them in an enclosed vehicle? It would seem a wonderful solution to get rid of both the cans and the creators. :D

Hey DKarvwnaris,

I'll try to post a pic of the sign. It's a real #ad
to anyone east of the Delaware River

I'll be looking forward to it, let me know if you find it, I don't get to the TDR as much as I want these days regularly, I would hate to miss that one. I have a few hundred friends back home that would frame it as well.
