Looking for a 7.3 excursion

He knows his stuff!!

that guy really knows what he is talking about. My neighbor recommended me to look at his vids just after I got my EX. Lots of great info if you have a 7. 3 motor.

Here's a shop that's really got their head around the whole Ford issue.

YouTube - 6. 0L POWERSTROKE - THE PERFECT STORM

YouTube - 6. 0 CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE

I applaud this outfit for their efforts to figure out exactly how to keep these things on the road. All of their videos are great. However, I think that I would be $ ahead to deal with the cummins' issues than the Ford issues. All that extra $ just to make it right.

Yeah... but you can get those 6. 0's really cheap now!! You get a King Ranch 4x4 for well under what the Cummins and Duramax's get and then pay $8k to repair them and then you have a good reliable vehicle.

Sorry, I don't agree. Regardless how cheaply someone can purchase a King Ranch dually and regardless how much money he spends to improve it he would still have a lousy Sick. Ohh Furd that is a poor performer when heavily loaded and would still have the same fundamental design and durability problems.

If a Sick. Ohh could be made reliable with a few upgraded parts Navistar and Furd would have done it years ago. Think of the hundreds of millions of dollars both companies could have saved it a Sick. Ohh could be fixed.

A lousy engine could be perhaps improved but it would never equal the performance, economy, reliability, durability, or service life of a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram.

Harvey,

There is no denying that you are a tried and true Cummins enthusiast and everybody respects that. I love my truck as much as you do and depend on the torque curve and economy my Cummins has to pull my trailers. However, if you are looking for a good truck that is reliable for a cheaper price and you are a staunch Powerstroke fan, I firmly believe this a viable option.

It is a lousy engine but once the problems can be alleviated it seems as though these trucks can be driven reliably. When you consider the horrible resale value of the 6. 0's and then justifiably accept the $8,000 repair and upgrade, you still get a capable truck for much less.

This is still far cheaper than purchasing a new truck... ... ..... whether Cummins, Duramax or Powerstroke! Again... ... . for a steadfast Powerstroke fan, this is a very good upgrade.
