High mileage

I just PM'd the welders rig at work. It's a F550/ 6. 4. Never seen battle, less than 9000 miles. I dropped the engine oil and this was on the drain plug.

I'm having trouble uploading the image. I'll have to try later. It's a piece of tin, about 1/4" square. Has a fork on one end. Almost looks like a spade that would go on a screw binding post.

Finally got this to work. I had to do it from home. I never had a problem uploading a picture from my phone. I made multiple attempts.

Boy that's scary! Hard to imagine how something like that could get inside an engine and NOT take something out on the way down... .

We're so used to seeing the large chunks of the Ford/Int diesels flying out the bottom, we usually don't see something that small. :-laf

Seriously though, I can't think of where that would have come from on that engine without an obvious performance issue except from the outside.

welllll, he WAS saying it started bucking a bit and acting wierd but we went with a fuel filter change before we pursue an internal engine problem. Since we went to B20 recently, we've had lots of plugged filters and such. The filters were quite heavy, so I'm hoping for the best.
